Just a little over 25 years ago, I worked as a projectionist for the Krikorian Premiere Theaters out in a small suburb of Los Angeles called La Mirada. It was a small burrow containing elements of Los Angeles as well as more conservative Orange County type elements. That summer, Oliver Stone released his latest social commentary on American decadence and a rapidly changing media culture: Natural Born Killers. It was media malfeasance and our lack of compassion writ large on a movie screen. Fast forward 25 years and we have another film released which mirrors many of those elements as Warner Brothers released the latest DC inspired piece.
