Get my head round – A Dad trying to cope with the loss of his Partner and becoming a single parent. – Single Dad, Parents Article

The sun is shining. It’s still cold but we will settle for this. So it’s almost official. School has emailed parents to say that looking at the latest government guidance – which apparently isn’t much – only some Primary pupils and those sitting final exams next year will get any direct teaching over the next few months. The earliest Son will be back in school is going to be September. So it’s time to get our heads round this. Looking…

Stages – A Dad trying to cope with the loss of his Partner and becoming a single parent. – Single Dad, Parents Article

One of my first records I purchased was ‘All the worlds a stage’ by the rock legends, Rush. Shakespeare wrote that ‘All the worlds a stage’. Don’t worry I’m not going all thespian on you. But I must admit I fancy my chances these days of doing a mighty fine Richard III stage performance. Why is the Stagecoach Bus always two hours late when I try to catch it. Just watched wrestling on the TV which is staged. So many…

I speak proper – A Dad trying to cope with the loss of his Partner and becoming a single parent. – Single Dad, Parents Article

These little beauties seemingly flower earlier every year. When we first moved here the snowdrops flowered mid February. These guys flowered mid March and the Daffodils arrived during April. I guess my Dad would have said something like ‘blimey I’ve only just planted me Goosegogs‘. Goosegogs is Yorkshire for Gooseberries. Once a week we have school bagmageddon. Poor bairn (kid) is packed off lugging (carrying) two bursting at the seams bags. I wish someone would invent a Dr Who Tardis…

A very long time – A Dad trying to cope with the loss of his Partner and becoming a single parent. – Single Dad, Parents Article

I believe Marygate Landing was built in 1324. In all though years it’s seen many many things. So many passing boats. So many passing souls. And I understand as many as 4 sunny days in 785 years. Another day and another drenching. So in the end it’s been a complete weekend lockdown. An attempt to soothe the raging anxiety which school and modern life creates in someone so young. Someone with Aspergers and Dyslexia who doesn’t in to the current…

Obelisk – A Dad trying to cope with the loss of his Partner and becoming a single parent. – Single Dad, Parents Article

The Obelisk at Castle Howard. It is over 300 years old and is 24m tall. It has the following inscription VIRTUTIS ET FORTUNAEJOHANNIS MARLBURIAE DUCISPATRIAE ET EUROPAEQUE DEFENSORISHOC SAXUMADMIRATIONI AC FAME SACRUMCAROLUS COMES CARLIOL POSUITANNO DOMINIMDCCXIV I think my translation is pretty accurate. Virtually everyday is wet here. If you have the misfortune to come here you will need three jumpers, extra thick wooly socks and two umbrellas. I could have been built somewhere warm and dry like Rome but…

Thirty Minutes – A Dad trying to cope with the loss of his Partner and becoming a single parent. – Single Dad, Parents Article

About a month a go I visited the Moorlands Nature Reserve. It’s a small but ever so beautiful piece of nature on the edge of the city. After years of driving past it and thinking ‘must go there’ – I finally found the time. Really pleased I made myself stop the car and go for it. Well another work visit to the City. Work completed sooner than expected. So a spare 30 minutes before I head for the school run.…

Waterfall – A Dad trying to cope with the loss of his Partner and becoming a single parent. – Single Dad, Parents Article

Although England does do an awful lot of water it’s not blessed with that many truly epic waterfalls. But we do have the occasional spectacular one. High Force in Teasdale. The Falls are about an hours drive from us. We haven’t been since our world changed. We had planned to go there as part of our school holiday road trip. But as I was packing up the picnic Dad I’m not sure I’m ready to go there yet. I can…

The Future Is Family: Upcoming Changes to our Blog – Foster Parents Article

As you may have noticed, there’s been a lot of change taking place at our headquarters in Princeton.  At the start of this year, we changed our name and the scope of our mission to show that we care about making the New Jersey foster care system better for every person involved.  Alongside those changes, we’re also trying to refocus our online presence to be more relevant and meaningful to you, our parents. That means that the way we deliver…

C.H.A.N.G.E | Single Mom Survival SUCCESS – Single Mum, Parents Article

For most of us, day-to-day routines and doing life become like a pair of well-worn slippers or a comfy sweatshirt. Most times, we can adjust to upcoming changes and work through it. Other times well, it is pretty tough. Sometimes life hits us sideways, knocking the air out of our lungs. Single parenting is not for the faint of heart and changes can come faster then the speed of lighting.  It happened to me when my ex-spouse said he loved…
