When it comes to writing, storytelling represents my favorite aspect of it. I love to have people delve deeply into my stories and come out with some larger appreciation at the end. Hopefully they will laugh a lot, cry a little, and maybe moved to emotion or three by the time they reach the end. But even amidst all the stories I tell, some feel harder to write than others. They represent the most personal of stories. And yet those stories need to be told. Probably more than any other. One such story stands out as we reach this holiday weekend. It’s my ode to greatness and heroism. It’s my hero’s tale, a Memorial Day remembrance.
